The Cordis™ FW1000 is a simple fit-and-forget wireless firewall comprising a WiFi™ compliant IEEE 802.11b interface on one end and two 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interface at the other end. By applying the Cordis RadioEye™ between the access points and the local area network (LAN), a higher security level may be applied to the network because access can be granted based on physical location. In addition the Cordis RadioEye™ provides measurement data for the wireless traffic pattern and will report “holes” in the coverage and provide a tool for system maintenance which is required for large wireless systems. The Cordis RadioEye™ contains built-in spectrum analysers which eliminate the need for sophisticated instruments when maintaining and tuning the network performance.

Introducing a wireless firewall

Cordis RadioEye™ also supports a plug-in for wireless payment services. A foreign mobile user connected to the Cordis™ FW1000 firewall will automatically get a registration page where a VISA, Mastercard number etc. can be entered and then get access to the Internet for a limited time. Mail service for foreign mobile users is seamlesly integrated as the Cordis™ FW1000 redirect any outgoing mail access to its own outgoing SMTP mail server, and hence, enable seamless mail connection (No change of out-going mail server required). The Cordis™ FW1000 collects all transactions and sends an encrypted and authorised transaction log using the embedded SIM-card security function to a central server handling the payment transactions.

For the professional user

The professional WLAN 802.11b user will be focused on cost saving equipment for operational cost saving. In addition to a powerful coverage, interference and performance monitor for the wireless network, the system provides coordinates to all WLAN equipment in the network. This "cursor" function in combination with data base filters gives an efficient user interface, and corresponding operaitonal cost savings. The maintenance and set-up of the Cordis Radioye™ system is fully remote, and administration tools enables efficient large system administration a very efficient operation.
