Product modules
Our product systems supplement the basic structure of a mobile communication
network. By launching the Cordis RadioEye system concept, this makes new
functions available inside the existing infrastructure without disturbing
or influencing the overall architectural design.
The Cordis RadioEye™ product system
Cordis RadioEye™ provides a capability to visualize the radiation
patterns in a Wireless communication "room" and further parameterize
the measured condition for intelligent use inside the communication procedures.
The system is interfaced to cellular phone network or Wireless personal
computer networks.
The system comprises several sub product modules, packaged and integrated
for optimal price vs. performance relationship.
Including the use of our own analogue antenna/radio front-end designs
and low-level core programmed micro controller modules, this have resulted
in optimized solutions for challenging requirement in the network.
Modules included in the system are:
- Cordis™ 900/1800/2.45G/5.6G ; Multi-axial scanning beam antenna
modules
- Cordis™ TSP ; Trigonometric Signal Processing Module
- Cordis™ IPC; Embedded mail and web server Client module
- Cordis™ LMS; Linux W-LAN Management Server
- Cordis RadioEye™ Software modules , supporting: a. installation
management
b. wireless network performance analysis and monitoring

Compatibility and Product integration
The Cordis RadioEye™ system provides standalone functionality and
harmonizes with existing mobile communication system standards in the
market. The system offers compatibility to standard network protocols
and operating systems for easy integration and installation.
Major processing features of the Cordis RadioEye™
system:
- Real time generating of room coordinates for the mobile terminals
by means of roof mounted multi axial scanning antenna section and highly
efficient trigonometric signal processing (TSP).
- Adaptation to network standard protocol stacks and coding for mapping
of the unique Ethernet identification certificates or TMSI (Temporary
Mobile Subscriber Identity) to the precise calculated mobile terminal
location.
- Management ruler menus addressing conditional access rights for the
wireless communication units based on their individual location referenced
to predefined virtual rooms.
- Automatic exception message generator on E-mail service supporting
network management.
- Real time analysis of communication quality and link margins with
reference to local space coordinate vectors.
- Continuous indication meter of accuracy for the communicator coordinates.

Application
areas
Mapping the precisely processed physical location vectors with the unique
data identification codes of the different communicators enhance the standard
application areas inside the network infrastructure. The refined wireless
terminal identifier generates the possibility for higher level management
and support of more services and security regimes.

Virtual Wireless LAN IP-zones
Inside a single Wireless IP zone, the Cordis™ system will generate
unlimited numbers of virtual communication rooms (sub IP -zones) with
individual network connection. Each communicating wireless terminal can
further be assigned network access rights based on its physical location.
In addition, centrally broadcasted information may be filtered to the
communicators based on physical location criteria.
Services range from assignment of automatic access to host work directories
to more advanced support of system security regimes.
The system supports industry IEEE802.11 a/b/g or Bluetooth standards
Differential GSM Access Zones
Differentiated services can now be realized using the precise location
coordinates of the GSM/cellular phone in the communication criteria. Cellular
phone users will be able to subscribe for network services which are opened
on "physically being present - criteria " only. Application
service providers may reach their subscribers based on more convenient
conditions and to higher benefit for all involved parties.
Differential GSM Charge Rates
Telecom Network operators can now offer differentiated charge rates for
local zones supporting environmental protection. Different areas may be
given individual restrictions in connection for in-coming phone calls.
Disturbance to performance acts or possibilities for interference with
other electronic instruments in sensitive areas may even require total
prohibition from usage of cellular phones. The Cordis system will facilitate
establishment of "dialing possible" zones in such area-sections
where the signals will not be disturbing.
GSM Intercom
The telecom network operator may support intercom/house central functionalities
using the cellular phone as a combined intercom and external phone apparatus.
By support of a Cordis system installation, the cellular phones will operate
as a device connected to the internal communication switch board when
the phones are located inside a defined area or building. Total information
is available for the telecom operators for addressing differential tariff
charge tables.
Cellular phone or PDA with Bluetooth interface
The Bluetooth communication link is based on the 2.45 GHz micro wave frequency
band. In connection with payment services involving e-purse functionality,
and by adapting the Cordis RadioEye to the system network, this will support
enhanced validation criteria and security procedures in situations where
up- or down- loading procedures of payment/data may occur.
Exchanged information with central servers can be locked to the correct
device giving added protection against unauthorized information access.
In other applications, where accurate location of user shall be matched
with the data exchange between the communicators and central servers,
the Cordis RadioEye™ will automatically adapt this functionality.
It is seen relevant in connection with clearing routines or for instance
at gate passages at airports or other strictly controlled areas.
In general, the Cordis™ system will, by adaptation of the standard
protocol parameters, support enhanced services and demands growing from
establishment of the Bluetooth network.

Cordis RadioEye™ facilitates convenient installation and management
routines inside Wireless networks.
An incorporated software module provides a GUI (Graphical User Interface)
and present valuable information and performance characteristics of the
system design. By defining virtual rooms inside the Wireless LAN, the
GUI will indicate the achievable tolerances of the measurements at the
different zone locations. Due to possible varying communication link margins
in the main system, the obtainable results may change within the zone
and further address need for system calibrations.
Radionor Communications focus on flexibility and comforts
in projecting network solutions, making development and realization of
system tools to become natural elements to the core technology work programme.
